Cover Crazy #13

Cover Crazy is a weekly meme that features book covers.
The point of this meme is to admire the art and beauty of a book’s design.

The Lost Prince (The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten)

by Julie Kagawa

This might be one of my favorite covers in 2012.
I mean just look at it! It's gorgeous. Simply gorgeous.
I love all the amazing blue colors, the forrest like background, the swirly things in the corners and title that we all have come to known as an Iron Fey book. And of course the guy is drool worthy. Ethan all grown up. *sigh*
I love the leaves at his upper body, or should I say in his body.
This truly is a very unique cover.

Quote of the Week #6

My Quote of the Week is a weekly meme hosted by Paranormal Book Fan where you can feature your favorite quotes.

My quote of this week comes from:

Rose and Dimitri moved almost as one entity, like a matched pair of wolfes or lions, both wary and deadly as they studied their surroundings, taking no detail or person for granted.

Dirty Little Secret #6

Dirty Little Secret is a weekly meme hosted by  Under the Covers. Every Thursday we get to know other bloggers and readers more intimately by asking them a question hoping to reveal their dirty little secrets.

this week's question:

Who is your favorite flawed hero and/or heroine and why do you still love them despite their faults?

The first one that comes to mind is Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare.  Because he keeps pushing people away and tries to keep people from loving him to try and protect those people. Inside he hurts so much because of what happened in his past. Poor Will.
But I will always love him because inside he really is an amazing guy who would do everything for to protect the ones he loves, even if he has to hurt them. One of the other reasons I think he's amazing is his love for books.

Waiting On Wednesday #13

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

Few Are Angels

by Inger Iversen

5/01/2012

When loved ones die, we are often left to learn to be content with life without them. Ella is faced with the challenge of moving on after her parents’ death. Though her sanity is tested by visions, voices, and a devastating breakdown, she still believes that she can live a normal life as wallflower; the girl in the background that every one just passes by and not the girl who lost everything. Then she meets Kale. Pale, vigilant, and mysterious, he challenges her to come to terms with what she really is and where her Second Sight has come from. The raven-haired stranger tells her a secret that will shatter her goal of remaining in the background and place her smack in the middle of an on-going conflict. A conflict where she is thought to be the only solution. Will Ella accept who and what she really is, or will it all be too much? How much change can Ella handle in one lifetime?

My Book Boyfriend #13

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by The Unread Reader.

~ Shay Doran ~

Shay Doran is one of the cutest character I know. He appears in Nightshade, Wolfsbane and Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer. I did not like how things ended in Bloodrose though. But I'm not going to rant about that again. ;D

  • Seamus 'Shay' Doran
  • Wolf (Guardian)
  • Brown hair with a tinge of gold
  • "Seamus Doran was saved by Calla from a bear, and was almost killed. He then transferred to Calla's school, and the trouble started as it was obvious he was attracted to her. He finds out at the end of Nighshade that he is a Scion, a prophesied person that could free the Guardians from the Keepers, bringing him into a life threatening situation."  (from wikia)

"Calla," Shay called from the hall. "Without your nakedness to distract me, I'm remembering that we're in serious trouble. Hurry, please."

"I growled and then slapped him."Hey!" His hand pressed to his cheek.
"You always say that when I slap you," I said.
"I think it's a problem that you know what I say when you slap me," he said. "That's not the kind of intimacy I'm looking for."

"Wait.” Shay clasped my arm, turning me toward him. “Calla, you know, right?”
“Know what?” I asked, caught in the mystery of his eyes.
“That I love you too."

Teaser Tuesdays #12

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

This week's teaser comes from:

Nevermore by Kelly Creagh
"Look, I'm not doing the work all by myself," she said at last, deciding to crack the rather thick ice with that little mallet of for-your-info. He didn't move, but he spoke. "Did I say that?" Isobel felt a string of surprise at the sound of his voice. It was as if she'd half expected him to be made of wax. His voice was calm and low and reasonable, not troubled and gruff like she'd assumed.

Anyone can participate in Teaser Tuesdays. Just do the following:

 • Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Cover Crazy #12

Cover Crazy is a weekly meme that features book covers.
The point of this meme is to admire the art and beauty of a book’s design.

Stolen Away by Alyxandra Harvey

Hardcover
Paperback

I can't really pick one cover because I absolutely love both of them. The covers both have a magical look about them, fitting to the story. There's nothing negative I can say about them.
I love the hardcover because the colors are really unique. And I love the paperback because I just love the wings and the blue.
~ Also the story is really good. ~

Quote of the Week #5

My Quote of the Week is a weekly meme hosted by Paranormal Book Fan where you can feature your favorite quotes.

My quote of this week comes from:

Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

"That was enterprising," Will sounded nearly impressed.
Nate smiled. Tess shot him a furious look. "Don't look pleased with yourself. When Will says 'enterprising' he means 'morally deficient.'"
"No, I mean enterprising," said Will. "When I mean morally deficient, I say, 'Now, that's something I would have done'."

Dirty Little Secret #5

Dirty Little Secret is a weekly meme hosted by  Under the Covers. Every Thursday we get to know other bloggers and readers more intimately by asking them a question hoping to reveal their dirty little secrets.

Question of the week:

If you could visit any country with a fictional character as your guide, who would you pick and why?

This is is an easy one. Because I'm so obsessed with Karen Marie Moning's Fever series I'd pick Ireland (Dublin) with Barrons but honestly he scares me a little bit so I'll pick Mac instead. Would be awesome to hang out with her and I might see Barrons anyway in Barrons Books and Baubles. ♥

Waiting On Wednesday #12

Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking The Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

My pick of this week is:

Fever Moon

by Karen Marie MoningAl Rio (Artist)David Lawrence (Scripter)Cliff Richards (Illustrations)

Expected publication: July 10th 2012

An all-new Mac & Barrons story by #1 New York Times bestselling author Karen Marie Moning, marvelously adapted into a full-color graphic novel by writer David Lawrence and illustrator Al Rio

In Fever Moon, we meet the most ancient and deadly Unseelie ever created, the Fear Dorcha. For eons, he’s traveled worlds with the Unseelie king, leaving behind him a path of mutilation and destruction. Now he’s hunting Dublin, and no one Mac loves is safe.

Dublin is a war zone. The walls between humans and Fae are down. A third of the world’s population is dead and chaos reigns. Imprisoned over half a million years ago, the Unseelie are free and each one Mac meets is worse than the last. Human weapons don’t stand a chance against them.

With a blood moon hanging low over the city, something dark and sinister begins to hunt the streets of Temple Bar, choosing its victims by targeting those closest to Mac. Armed only with the Spear of Destiny and Jericho Barrons, she must face her most terrifying enemy yet.

My Book Boyfriend #12

My Book Boyfriend is a weekly meme hosted by The Unread Reader.

I recently finished Dark Lover by J.R. Ward so I've decided that my book boyfriend of this week will be...

Wrath

from Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward

  • King of the vampires
  • Last pure blood vampire
  • Almost blind
  • Long black hair
  • 6'9"
  • Wears wrap-around sunglasses he never takes off

Some quotes:

"Welcome to the wonderful world of jealousy, he thought. For the price of admission, you get a splitting headache, a nearly irresistable urge to commit murder, and an inferiority complex. Yippee."

"I'm going to talk to her."
"And how's that going to go? You're just going to walk up to her and say, 'Hey, I know you've never seen me before, but I'm your dad. Oh, and guess what? You've won the evolutionary lottery: You're a vampire. Let's go to Disneyland!"

"You don't know this yet. But you are mine."

This week's topic:

Top Ten Tips For New Book Bloggers

I have only been blogging for about four months. I does feel longer though. So I hope I can provide some good tips.

1. Be yourself. Don't ever pretend you're something you're not and blog only about the things you love. Be youself!

 2. Reply to comments. I, myself love to get comments and I try to reply to all of them. If people visitin your blog take the time to say something, the least you can do is say something back.

 3. Participate in memes. Not only are they fun, it might give you more blog followers.

4. Make a weekly schedule page. This might help your blog followers know what and when you are posting  particular memes. It also might help you to keep track of them. It helps me a lot.

5. Reviews. If you post reviews. Good. Keep it up. I love to read reviews on blogs to know what other people think of that particular book. Do try to put a rating and information (Title, author, publisher, publication date, genre, etc...) in the review.

6. Hold INT giveaways. Everyone loves a good giveaway. I live in Belgium so I can only enter INT giveaways. I'd recommend this to everyone. There are a lot of INT bloggers out there living outside of the US. A good webshop to get books from is The Book Depository, since they ship for free to pretty much every country. And their book prices are very low!

7. Have a review policy page. If you want authors or publishers to contact you, don't just give only your email. Post a page about what kind of books you'd like to review.

Okay, so I didn't make it to 10 but I really don't know any more tips. I hope this will help some people. :)

Cover Crazy #11

Cover Crazy is a weekly meme that features book covers.
The point of this meme is to admire the art and beauty of a book’s design.

So, because I didn't know what cover to pick for this week's Cover Crazy, my friend Emilie (Or Em/Ems/Emsie/Ninja-Goldfish ;D) helped me out.
Thank you, Em! :D

Deadly Cool by Gemma Halliday

What I love about this cover:

First of all, duh, the eyes. The blueness of the eyes! It's so beautiful. I bet everyone would want eyes like that. I know I do. The color blue definitely is prime color here. The eyeliner around the eyes gives it more effect also. And her skin is just perfection!
I love how we only see her face, a little bit of her neck and not much hair. The paleness of the lips fit the picture also.
And then about the text on it. "First love is a killer." Of course when you see that on a book, you've got to get it. Sounds so intruiging.
I love the "cool" in Deadly Cool, how they are iPod earbuds. Very cool. Love it! :D

I can't seem to find anything I dislike about this cover. It's really hard to find things like that on covers I love.

"Loving the cover is one step closer to loving the
book."
